A Brief Look at The Mao Thought Mao Zedong had recently become the Chairman of the Communist Party of China before instigating the Cultural Revolution to take effect from the years between 1966 to 1976. Mao Zedong was the leader, spokesperson and symbol of the Communist revolution in China. After achieving victory against the Nationalists, he founded the People’s Republic of China and became its chairman and leader.
